Work Description

The Senior Application Specialist is responsible for providing high-level guidance, support, and architecture for enterprise software applications, particularly ERP systems. This role requires extensive experience with large-scale software applications, ERP solutions, and software development processes. The ideal candidate will offer strategic technical leadership while effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Major Responsibilities:

· Provide technical expertise in enterprise applications, including ERP systems and software architecture.

· Support and define the architecture for ERP systems and related software solutions.

· Provide second and third-tier application support for business-critical systems.

· Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, including Microsoft, Adobe, AutoDesk etc.

· Ensure software development best practices, including source code control and software design processes.

· Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical teams and non-technical business users.

· Assist with Application monitoring and performance, updates, and quality assurance for enterprise applications.

· Define and optimize business application configurations for improved performance and functionality.

· Proactively seek opportunities to educate users on new application features.

· Contribute to future team structuring, including potential leadership responsibilities.

· Stay updated on AI applications in enterprise software and evaluate relevant solutions.

· Participate in various software and ERP-related projects.

· Research emerging technologies and best practices to enhance business solutions.

Statement of Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 10 years of experience in enterprise software applications and ERP systems.
  • Strong background in software development, including exposure to the software design lifecycle and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP solutions (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and software architecture.
  • Familiarity with database management and enterprise-level software solutions.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies, including Agile.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred). Equivalent experience with a technical diploma and extensive experience will be considered.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience implementing enterprise applications.
  • Sound knowledge of IT systems, operational software, and ERP technical support.
  • Familiar with the latest AI technologies.
  • Leadership capabilities, with the potential to manage direct reports in the future.
  • Strong communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and business leaders.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain discretion with sensitive information.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle would be considered an asset for the purposes of visit job sites.

Physical/Sensory Effort/Work Environment:

  • Providing service to several people, companies or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines, working for a group of companies.
  • Overtime may be required.
