Here is what you will be doing:

Supporting the Corporate Performance and Reporting team, this position plays an integral role in advancing alignment of our internal business reporting to our strategic priorities at Ontario Health. Through our information framework we will help advance Ontario Health's mandate to deliver an integrated health care system with a focus on evidence, continuous improvement, and ability to measure the impact we are having on the system. This is achieved through a series of corporate reporting products and reports tailored to their audiences, including our corporate scorecard, program dashboards and registries, to support Ontario Health's CEO, Senior Leadership Team, the Board and teams across the agency to deliver on their objectives.

An Analyst for Corporate Performance and Reporting will contribute to this work through:

  • Performing analysis, research and interpretation with a focus on advanced data visualization in order to support an understanding of corporate performance against OH's key strategic priorities, areas of focus, mandate and portfolio goals. Supporting the advancement of OH's information framework, including delivery of its corporate scorecard and program dashboards will help to ensure goals are met.

  • Developing and maintaining business intelligence dashboards and supporting data pipelines, reporting processes and quality assurance.

  • Applying superb analytical and presentation skills to establish and articulate implementation options that advance strategic concepts and complex ideas as they relate to health care transformations (service integration, incentives, accountability, and strategic partnerships).

  • Focus efforts on continually being able to articulate impact through the actions and findings within our information framework.

  • Supporting the coordination of Ontario Health strategic partnership and integration activities.

Here is what you will need to be successful:

  • Provide research and analysis that supports Ontario Health's Leadership Team and Board to understand OH performance against our goals and targets. Supporting the understanding of how we are advancing key strategic priorities and areas of focus.

  • Support the technical and strategic development of reporting products through the utilization of business intelligence tools. This encompasses collaborating with teams on the formulation of key performance indicators and monitoring progress in diverse reports and dashboards; including designing products to seamlessly integrate with existing reports.

  • Work independently to conduct research and analysis, including indicator development, technical specifications, stratifications and forecasting models to deepen the analytical capacity and support of the team. Ability to translate key findings into strategic opportunities and/or to inform performance reporting, monitoring and management, funding, and accountability.

  • Engage subject matter experts and leaders from across the various Ontario Health portfolios, as well as external stakeholders as required to develop key performance indicators as well as qualitative results reporting. Support business planning through its life cycle assisting portfolios in the development of their key strategic deliverables, outcomes, and success criteria. Assist in forming strategic options and planning approaches.

  • Support presentation of findings to senior leadership and translate feedback into options analysis for potential future implementation within a provincial context.

  • Support the translation of strategic concepts and complex ideas into reports and presentations for a variety of audiences, corporate and external meetings, and activities.

  • Support for the effective management of complex, high-pace and sensitive projects, including identifying risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.

  • Project manage development, delivery and execution of key reporting products, working closely with stakeholders across the organization.

Education and Experience

  • An undergraduate degree in computer science, business, health administration or related field is required.

  • A minimum of two years' experience in an analyst, advisor or planning role.

  • Experience with PowerBI dashboard development, Power Query and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) is required.

  • Experience with database management systems, such as Microsoft Access, is an asset.

  • Experience with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is an asset.

  • A Masters Level Degree in these fields would be an asset.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation would be an asset.

  • Work experience in health care is an asset.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Advanced analytical skills. Ability to translate analytical findings into a narrative, interpreting findings for specific audiences.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and can present complex concepts clearly and effectively for senior leaders. Can interpret data and analytical findings in multiple formats.

  • Skilled in creating products (e.g., papers, reports, presentations, scorecards, dashboards, diagrams/graphs, data visualization) for multiple internal and external audiences.

  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and facilitation of group consensus and decision making.

  • Proven ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders to establish trust, credibility, and respect.

  • Proven ability in project management, with strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Must be detail-oriented with strong problem solving, critical thinking, and negotiating skills.

  • Proven ability to work in a variety of team situations. Driven to work independently.

  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to use a variety of software programs (including Excel, Dundas Business Intelligence, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.). Ability to run analysis on multiple platforms would be an asset (eg. SAS).
