We have a great opportunity in our Operations Support Department for an Analyst, Operational Performance.


As the Analyst, Operational Performance you will be responsible for providing strategic support with respect to performance management initiatives within the Transportation & Vehicles Group. Working with operations, safety and customer experience data related to bus, subway, streetcar and Wheel-Trans operations, you will build data dashboards, conduct insightful analyses and report on operational performance metrics. By streamlining and automating data collection efforts, you will work towards the goal of improving data accuracy and reporting efficiency.

What You Will Do

  • In this role you will analyze operations related data and prepare reports to support decision-making and the development of action plans and strategies.
  • You will access, clean and organize raw data to support regular and ad-hoc analyses.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, heat map and other data visuals with the goal of making large and/or complex data accessible, understandable and actionable.
  • Identify trends, provide statistical information, as well as strategic support analysis to the Operations Group
  • Create and customize dashboards to meet internal client needs.
  • Ensure data is valid and reliable and identify data quality issues to support continuous improvements.
  • Maintain integrity of data through regular auditing and monitoring, by creating, adapting, and running database queries and verification tools;
  • Respond to surveys and questionnaires received from external organizations, keeping abreast of industry activities, best practices and new technologies in areas of responsibility;

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

  • Completion of a University Degree, or College Diploma in a related discipline or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to process, analyze and integrate large amounts of data from various sources.
  • You would have sound knowledge of statistical methods and techniques, including experience working with large volumes of data.
  • You have the ability to identify and clearly communicate important trends, provide statistical information, as well as strategic support analysis.
  • You have a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and data visualization software (e.g. MicroStrategy, PowerBI).
  • Sound judgement with well-developed analytical and problem solving skills.
  • You possess strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and effectively communicate in verbal and written formats.
  • You work well independently and within a team environment.
  • You must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
  • Experience using Python and ArcGIS and experience in the public transportation industry is considered an asset.
