The Role


As the Director and Head, Growth Marketing, Delivery and Performance Management, you will lead our growth marketing strategy to help us reach our business targets and increase revenue. Reporting to the VP, Marketing, you will lead, guide, rally and inspire a large team of highly skilled digital marketers, data scientists, media and performance management practitioners in the implementation of enterprise growth strategies across paid media, search, audience strategies, marketing channel delivery excellence, and marketing science and performance management.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Growth Marketing:
    • Provides strategic planning, execution and ongoing optimization of Scotiabank's paid media program, as well as associated ad tech, including but not limited to programmatic display, paid social, paid search, paid video, affiliate channels and SEO.
    • Accountable for developing the customer acquisition strategy including monthly, quarterly and annual paid media budgets and delivery of sales targets, lifetime value and return on marketing investment, across multiple lines of business.
  • Marketing Delivery:
    • Leads a team that is accountable for best-in-class campaign enablement and execution, and MarTech operations.
    • Leads the relationships with third party vendors that support marketing strategies. This includes managing annual roadmaps and adoption strategies, as well as supporting proper contract management and compliance.
  • Marketing Science and Performance:
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and programs in Canada and set the best practice for marketing performance measurement.
    • Lead and influence the development of annual business level targets as it pertains to Marketing performance, in collaboration with Business and Channel partners.
    • Maintain partnership with finance, business lines, product, channels and other key stakeholders to manage ongoing optimization, maintain sales pipeline & performance across marketing and all sales channels.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, computer science, analytics or equivalent
  • In-depth knowledge of business operations and the marketing industry
  • 10+ years of digital growth, sales and /or marketing experience in a high growth consumer industry
  • 3+ years managing teams of 10+ employees
  • Expert experience with digital acquisition, performance best practices and technology trends
  • Ability to design and navigate through conflicting priorities, turning ambiguity into clarity in a fast-changing environment
  • Exceptional analytical skills, results orientation and data-driven approach in decision making (via KPIs and metrics)
  • Proven leadership, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Exceptional communicator and problem solver
  • Demonstrated competence and ability to influence senior executives
  • A "can do" mentality - demonstrating a real passion for making things happen and for achieving stretch targets
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, with a collaborative mindset and a positive attitude
