The Director, Talent Acquisition is responsible for strategic leadership of our Talent Acquisition team. Through innovative and creative approaches, the Director, Talent Acquisition will establish and deliver processes, programs and technology that enable Holt Renfrew to attract extraordinary talent in an increasingly competitive market. This leader will play a critical role in the continuous improvement of our end-to-end recruitment processes, drive critical Talent Acquisition business insights and analytics, manage key vendor relationships, drive team capability building, and help measure and deliver ROI and effectiveness of various Talent Acquisition investments.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Develop and lead Talent Acquisition strategies which create opportunities to focus on top talent identification, critical skill gap sourcing and attraction, including:

  • Demonstrating thought-leadership

  • Ensuring solutions are based on strong analytics and insights

  • Ensuring the path to move from strategy to execution is clearly laid out

  • Presenting findings and recommendations in a compelling way at an executive level

  • Leadership over the Talent Acquisition team who are accountable for delivering diverse talent within our corporate and retail leadership teams

  • Create and maintain a sourcing model allowing for pro-active pipeline of key talent in line with critical roles and skills to support the corporate and retail leadership hiring needs

  • Design inclusive recruitment processes that enables streamlined, candidate-centric recruitment practices for both internal and external candidates, balancing the needs of the business with the candidate experience.

  • Responsible for employer branding strategy and initiatives in partnership with Internal Communications

  • Be an effective consultant to senior leaders in the business and the people team to ensure we secure the right talent into the right roles

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Hiring Managers and Business Leaders on defining effective staffing strategies and workforce planning

  • Oversee the creation of and performance against recruitment data and insights, in addition to the strategy and cadence for sharing these results across business leaders

  • Maintain awareness of industry trends to drive new and innovative recruitment initiatives for the business

  • Oversee administration of recruitment process (including postings, hiring manager resources, etc.)

  • Support the build of an effective social media presence by sharing content and driving engagement through social channels

  • Manage recruitment for senior level/ Director + roles as needed

The ideal candidate:

  • 5-10+ years of combined experience in Talent Acquisition, human resources or a related field

  • 2-3 years of experience in a people leadership role

  • Strong background in partnering with senior leadership on proactive talent acquisition strategies

  • Strong experience with Workday systems (either implementing or using the system) and other Talent systems (ATS, HRIS, LinkedIn) is preferred

  • Exceptional story telling and presentation skills by leveraging data and metrics to articulate market trends and inform strategy

  • Able to develop and maintain highly effective relationships, externally and internally

  • Able to influence professionals of senior management level; exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to link current and anticipated business challenges with the strategic talent acquisition function

  • You use a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens on everything that you do

  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to get things done

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player who is able to act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required

  • Is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change

  • Passionate about fashion and luxury retailing
