What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:
• Conduct needs assessments to identify training requirements. • Consult with stakeholders to gather information and set learning objectives. • Develop project plans and monitor their progress. • Design and create training materials and resources. • Develop and update lesson plans and training content. • Evaluate training programs and implement improvements. • Deliver training sessions and support trainers. • Prepare and maintain training-related documentation and records.
How do I qualify?
Technical Knowledge:
• You have knowledge of and ability to apply adult education principles and practices to lead the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of training programs • You have knowledge and experience in instructional design to develop and maintain learning material in multiple learning modes (e.g. instructor-led, eLearning, etc.) • You have knowledge and understanding of technical writing to design courses and training modules
Communication, Training and Presentation Skills:
• You have proven written communication skills to develop and prepare learning and development program materials • You have demonstrated oral communication, presentation and training skills to deliver learning and development programs/courses to a varied audience • You can clearly express your ideas verbally and in writing to share and discuss issues with external stakeholders and internal staff at all levels of the organization • You are able to work well independently, as part of a team and with partners and subject matter experts to research and design and develop learning content
Analytical and Research Skills:
• You can assess training needs and objectives, identify training options, and develop the best approach for delivering information • You can design and develop training programs that align with organizational needs and strategic objectives • You have analytical skills to analyze programs, resolve problems, identify opportunities for improvement, and make recommendations • You can develop metrics to evaluate training programs and measure their effectiveness and efficiency
Consultation and Advisory Skills:
• You have consultation skills to work with managers in establishing priorities and commitments to learning approaches • You have persuasion and motivational skills to encourage and build confidence in course participants who require additional support • You have advisory skills to guide leaders in understanding learning needs and the value of recommended approaches to ensure compliance while meeting clients' operational needs
