Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, Zurich Canada, you will join a dynamic team of HR Business Partners committed to delivering impactful HR solutions. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and management teams, providing strategic insights and hands-on support in key areas such as talent management, employee relations, and organizational development.

What you will do

  • Consult with business leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that drive business performance and align with Zurich Canada's overall objectives.
  • Provide expert guidance and support on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent management.
  • Leverage data insights to proactively identify the most pressing talent opportunities and challenges throughout the business unit or function and collaborate with leaders to design effective strategies.
  • In collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team, drive talent acquisition efforts, including workforce planning, recruitment, and selection processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies for talent development in partnership with the talent COE, including training, coaching, and career development programs.
  • Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR-related matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Facilitate the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers in addressing performance issues and developing performance improvement plans.
  • Identify opportunities for organizational improvement and implement change management initiatives.
  • Support the development and implementation of employee engagement and retention strategies.
  • Prepare and present reports on HR activities and initiatives to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, and company policies and procedures.

What you bring to the table

Qualifications

Required:


Bachelor's Degree and 6 or more years of experience in Human Resources

OR


High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in Human Resources

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Sound business acumen that includes general operational processes, financial management and business planning knowledge
  • Facilitation skills and organizational team diagnosis and development
  • Strong capability to partner and build credibility with management
  • Advanced HR Data analysis skills: ability to analyze, interpret and communicate data insights to drive talent initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other HR-related software
  • CHRP or CHRL in Progress (an asset)
  • Bilingualism (an asset)
