Keep Playing Kids ("KPK ")is JAM's North American not-for-profit designed to provide FREE sports programs to children in our communities. We proudly provide fun and safe recreational activities that help keep kids active, introduce them to new sports and share the joy of PLAY.

JAM is one of North America's largest providers of adult recreational sports leagues. We currently operate JAM Sports leagues in 24 cities across Canada and the US. Our goal is to get 1 million people playing annually.

JAM Sports donates 1% of all sports league revenue to the KPK program, which allows us to operate the program completely free of charge.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Lead Coach, you will play a crucial role in fostering physical activity, teamwork, and teamwork among children. Your commitment and enthusiasm will contribute to creating a positive and enjoyable experience for our young participants. The successful candidate in this role will be the lead in running our programs onsite and will help maintain good relationships with all partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the day-to-day administration of Keep Playing Kids.
  • Planning and coordinating clinics, programs and other recreational activities for all Keep Playing Kids programs.
  • Communicating with partner organizations, parents and children in an organized and professional manner.
  • Collaborating with volunteer coaches to coordinate activities and ensure the smooth operation of the program.
  • Establishing a relationship with vendors, facilities, and the community to support our growing brand
  • Arriving at the venue location prior to program times to meet with the facility caretaker and/or venue staff.
  • Collecting and creating fun content for JAM's social media platforms (videos, action shots, player interactions etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion for working with children and promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
  • Experience playing and/or coaching sports, preferably with children in a recreational or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of basic coaching principles, techniques, and safety guidelines for various sports (e.g., soccer, basketball, floor hockey).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with children, parents, and other volunteers.
  • Patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable to different skill levels and learning styles.
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to commit to the program schedule and expectations.
  • Ability to pass a background check and meet any other requirements mandatory to work with children.
  • Valid G driver's license is mandatory.


EXPECTED HOURS

  • We currently have 3 programs running starting January 2025.
  • You will be required to come into the JAM Head Office (245 Eglinton Avenue East, Toronto) to collect equipment for the program and drop it back as well before and after your shift.
  • Eastview KPK Program on Thursdays from 3:00pm - 5:00pm.
  • Crescent Town Club KPK Program on Tuesdays from 4:00pm - 5:00pm
  • Central Neighbourhood House KPK Program on Mondays from 4:00pm - 5:00pm

COMPENSATION

  • All of our Program Coordinators earn $17.55 CAD per hour.
  • Program Coordinators can participate in all our tournaments at no charge.
