We are currently seeking a Learning & Development Manager who will seek inspiration from our roots, can commit to achieving results the right way and loves to think big to join us on our journey.

The Learning & Development (L&D) Manager is responsible for the designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs to enhance employee skills, performance, productivity, and knowledge. This role supports the organization's goals by fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development through learning, engagement, and employee communications. A significant focus of this role will be developing and managing digital learning content, that will focus on Product, Sales, Customer Service, Brand, Health & Safety, Compliance, Diversity & Inclusion and Well-being. This role supports the availability of accessible and impactful learning and development resources to meet our diverse employee needs.

The Learning & Development Manager for Roots will be responsible for the following:

Training Design & Delivery:

  • Develop a learning road map that allows alignment and planning to strategic business objectives.
  • Develop and deliver training programs that enable achievement of organizational goals and address employee development needs. Partner with HR and other leaders in the design and implementation of such programming.
  • Conduct needs analyses to identify skill gaps and propose tailored learning solutions.
  • Partnering and maintaining strong relationships with subject matter experts and other team members to create, review and revise materials, valuing others' input, expertise, and diversity of experience.

Tools and Technology:

  • Create, curate, and manage eLearning modules, instructional videos, and other digital content using tools like Yoobic, Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
  • Act as the Yoobic system owner. This includes managing enrollment through auditing and tracking, configuring and testing new functionality as necessary, troubleshooting employee and application issues and managing user database and ensuring accuracy.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
  • Developing interactive, engaging training experiences by applying the principles of adult learning, using experiential and interactive training techniques in line with UX practices
  • Support the digitization of employee resources related to role, responsibilities, and processes through technology platforms available to the team.

Learning, Engagement and Communications:

  • Support the implementation of blended learning approaches, integrating digital, in-person, and virtual training solutions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning by creating engaging and accessible learning pathways.
  • Lever all technologies to support general employee engagement and communications efforts.
  • Work in partnership with primarily the HR, Retail and Product leadership teams in development of employee communications and engagement content.

Assessment & Feedback:

  • Working in partnership with functional leadership to develop assessments, quizzes, and evaluations to measure learning effectiveness, impact and retention.
  • Gather feedback from participants and stakeholders to continuously improve training programs.

Top candidates for the Learning & Development Manager role will have the following:

  • Human Resources, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Learning & Development or a similar role.
  • Strong experience with eLearning tools, LMS and other content creation platforms.
  • Familiarity with Yoobic is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Suite, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator. Video editing skills are required
  • Strong writing skills
  • Excellent content research and analytical skills to convert information and learner needs into performance-based, engaging, and practical training solutions
  • Experience in developing learning solutions in a variety of delivery methods (virtual, hands-on/experiential, instructor led, remote classroom, synchronous/asynchronous)

Preferred Skills

  • Certification in instructional design, eLearning, or related fields (e.g., CPLP, CPTD).
  • Experience in gamification, microlearning, or mobile learning solutions.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and best practices.
