What is the opportunity?

As Manager, Canadian Banking (CB) Expense Analysis, Platform Performance Management, you are the Finance Lead responsible for the analysis and reporting of expenses, including FTE, for Canada's largest retail branch network. You will also be responsible for the management of monthly best estimates reporting process identifying an early view of results. Further, working in close collaboration with finance and external partners, you will enhance cost transparency and develop modelling that provides insight and actionable information to management for effectively controlling cost growth.

What you will do?

  • Reporting related to CB expenses, and acting as center of expertise on matters relating to Investment Spend and Business As Usual Spend within Professional Fees, and full-time-employee (FTE)
  • Compiling expense and full-time-employee (FTE) data from across Canadian Banking (CB) and completing analysis and written commentary explaining variances for reporting periods
  • Monitoring, analyzing and reporting of financial results against Plan and Forecast
  • Management of monthly best estimates reporting processes identifying early view of actual results
  • Partnering with other Finance teams to understand cost trends
  • Providing advice to executives/senior management on cost trends, early warnings and savings opportunities

Must Have

  • University degree
  • Strong business, finance & accounting knowledge
  • Good written & verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management
  • Excellent analytical thinking
  • Proficient with MS Excel, especially for modeling
  • Attention to detail & works with minimal instruction
  • Comfortable dealing with incomplete information
  • Ability to work under pressure, focus on priorities & multi-task

Nice to Have

  • Accounting or other professional designation
  • Knowledge of EPM and RBC Finance tools & processes
