What you'll do

Our Finance team plays a key role in helping us stay competitive in the ever-changing retail environment by providing accurate, timely, and high-quality financial reporting, analysis, and advice to our business. Reporting to the AVP of Operational Efficiency with dotted line reporting to AVP, CTR FP&A supporting Strategic initiatives, you will partner with cross functional teams and develop detailed performance management reporting and insightful analysis on various initiatives across the Operational Efficiency Program to validate, measure and forecast the program benefits . We are looking for motivated individuals that have strong analytical skills and can communicate their findings succinctly.

  • Own the measurement of Operational efficiency initiatives, ensuring accuracy and completeness in calculations.

  • Build / maintain robust financial models and create/ modify support documents to support driving value and efficiency in key areas.

  • Determine and analyze key performance drivers relevant to the business.

  • Develop meaningful financial reporting that is responsive to the changing business, providing key insights and related recommendations that translate into sound business decisions.

  • Produce insightful, meaningful, and analytical commentary that can simplify complex financial matters into a well-crafted story/call-to-action, to allow financial and non-financial stakeholders to drive decisions.

  • Prepare periodic updates for internal stakeholders and the Board on progress of initiatives.

  • Support the evaluation of CTR strategic initiatives by developing financial models to evaluate new projects and investments, analyze profitability and provide financial recommendations.

  • Work on special projects as assigned by the AVPs.

What you bring

  • Post-secondary education in business or mathematics.

  • Post graduate degree (MBA) or designation (CPA/CFA) is considered an asset.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in financial planning & analysis, consulting, or strategy in a retail environment.

  • Experience working with large data sets, building robust models that drive strategic insights.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication skills; superior cross functional relationship/collaboration skills.

  • Highly driven with an exceptionally strong work ethic, possesses a team mentality and able to work independently.

  • Highly proficient in Excel, including ability to model, use advanced functions and interpret large amounts of data.

  • Intermediate knowledge of SQL and best data practices considered an asset
