What is the opportunity?

This role reports to the Director, Messaging Middleware Technologies in the Core Platform Services team. The role requires an organized and effective team player to assess and analyze IT and risk requirements, in order to ensure the Messaging Middleware team is aligned and working toward completion of major project deliverables. Working in collaboration with other IT and business teams, this role will be focused on projects and initiatives related to various risk and regulatory programs, as well as pushing various automation practices forward to ensure compliance for the products and assets we support throughout the enterprise.


What will you do?

  • Aligning and working with risk and regulatory programs to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Translating program needs, processes and procedures into a workable system, and articulating specific requirements by communicating with technology experts, risk teams and business stakeholders
  • Working with engineering teams to accelerate automation and other tools for our services, while tracking progress of deliverables
  • Working with application teams on forward planning for the service offerings our team provides
  • Working with internal partners to plan major projects and initiatives.
  • Working collaboratively with partners and stakeholders in Group Risk Management and application teams
  • Working closely with solution and business architects and other technology staff to deliver project results, while implementing risk analysis and meeting required deliverables
  • Implementing efficient processes to streamline requirements gathering for various programs within the organization
  • Performing detailed analysis and providing inputs to solution design - identifying, tracking, escalating and/or resolving data and systems issues
  • Analyzing risk requirements and creating documentation for product teams such as Vulnerability and Patch Management Procedures, RACI charts, Escalation Processes, and Governance documents
  • Contributing to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies
  • Gathering metrics and creating dashboards for senior management
  • Eliciting requirements needed to prioritize and meet program timelines


What do you need to succeed?

Must Have Skills:

  • Project experience
  • Business Analysis experience
  • Understanding of risk management concepts and practices
  • A strong technical background
  • Solid working knowledge of Powerpoint, Excel, Visio


Nice to Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of Messaging Middleware products (IBM MQ, IBM Integration Bus, IBM App Connect Enterprise)
  • Knowledge of RBC Data Delivery Middleware products (WXF, GDM, MRCF, NGM)
  • Knowledge of RBC Risk programs (VPM, EOL, TSS, etc)
  • Experience with automation tooling
  • Scripting experience


Soft Skills:

  • Require excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to build rapport with team members, stakeholders, IT, risk, and business partners.
  • Ability to break problems into well-defined logical and manageable tasks.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
