The Safety Assurance Project Manager will work within the Design and Systems Integration team within the GO Expansion Program Team
The role will comprise of leading the implementation of Safety Assurance Requirements across GO Expansion to ensure full compliance is achieved by all Project Delivery Teams
Work with the wider Metrolinx business to up-skill the wider GO Expansion teams and ensure safety is prioritized across all projects
Develop and agree sufficient document templates for multiple Safety Assurance deliverables and ensure these are briefed out across the GO Expansion Program to all Project Delivery Teams
Manage the production, review and issue of Safety Assurance deliverables from all GO Expansion Projects
Investigate safety assurance status, processes and procedures used by various projects within the GO Expansion program
Capture and share client needs by building strong relationships and generating confidence through engineering excellence with a commitment to satisfactory outcomes
Help develop legacy training programs in Safety Assurance
Liaise with wider GO Expansion teams to ensure consistency and quality of deliverables across all areas of the program
Responsible for managing, fostering, and maintaining senior level client relationships
Identification and escalation of Program level risks and issues that impact on delivery

Formulate a resource allocation strategy and utilize this to distribute work and budgets
Authorize work management and project delivery control per the project plan
Monitor project staff performance to ensure excellence and adherence to specified deadlines
Review and ensure adherence to the overall scope, schedule, and budget
Supervise, track, and report on performance against project requirements, schedule, milestones, budgets, quality measures, and KPIs, and address issues with corrective actions as appropriate
Evaluate project effectiveness by consulting with clients and project staff

Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in Project Management and managing the systems assurance on complex major railway infrastructure projects
Broad Rail Engineering experience
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent with professional work experience in a relevant engineering or project management discipline
Licenses OR Certifications:
Holding a recognized Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Skills and Competencies:
Strong project manager level leadership skills to manage and motivate program delivery teams delivering high risk, complex projects
Deep awareness of safety issues in an operational and project delivery environment
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
Proficient in Project Management software
Thorough understanding of prevailing Project Management methods
Expert knowledge of tools and metrics needed to evaluate project performance
Strong ability to identify and minimize risks in advance
Capability to detect, capitalize, and be sensitive to others' strengths
Strong supervision, delegation, and capacity development abilities
Detailed experience in effectively leading mid-sized multi-disciplinary project teams
Competent to perceive and ameliorate conflict and tension
Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership
Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)
Expert ability to work collaboratively and independently in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment
