What is the opportunity?

RBC's global technology organization comprises more than 10,000 employees creating industry-changing solutions to make a better day for our 19 million global clients. The Technology & Operations Corporate Communications team promotes the people, projects and successes of RBC's global tech organization and we have an exciting opportunity to join this team as Senior Manager, Corporate Communications for Global Functions Technology. In this role, you will develop and execute an internal and external communications strategy to support the SVP Global Functions Technology and a global team of employees. You will oversee internal comms channels, prepare briefing materials and employee messages, and manage employee events such as the Global Functions Technology Town Hall.

What will you do?
• Provide strategic communications counsel to the SVP, Global Functions Technology, including briefing materials and employee messages
• Deliver engaging, creative employee town halls and other internal events, including speaker preparations, presentations and video content
• Ensure Global Functions Technology events are leveraged internally and externally to build brand awareness, enhance reputation and engage employees
• Identify proactive internal and external opportunities to build a profile for the Global Functions Technology group, while contributing to the business and functional objectives of the bank
• Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders across RBC Technology to align activities and maximize benefits for the organization
• Assist with managing reputational risks, as required

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
• Undergraduate degree/post-graduate certificate or equivalent in communications, public relations, journalism, English or a related field
• 7+ years of communications experience
• Extensive experience providing strategic communications advice and developing content for senior executives
• Strong internal and external communications experience including proactive media relations and speech writing
• Ability to meet consistently high standards of quality while handling a variety of projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong knowledge of communications and social media principles and best practices

Nice-to-have
• Experience managing highly engaged and skilled employees
• Strong project management knowledge and time management capabilities
• Demonstrable passion for technology and/or financial services industry
