Be at the centre of Bell's transformation and growth on the Corporate Services team. Enabling our industry-leading businesses requires many teams working collaboratively, such as Corporate Security & Responsibility, Corporate Communications, Human Resources, Procurement, Strategic Business Transformation and Real Estate. Summary

We are looking for an external communications professional with a focus on national and Quebec communications strategies. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across Bell to tell compelling stories for key business initiatives, as well as handle day-to-day media relations. You think proactively, have a talent for finding the most compelling story angles and you can drive communications programs that generate measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive external communications plans to support key priorities and initiatives that enhance and protect the corporate reputation of Bell nationwide
  • Lead media relations in Quebec, developing key relationships with internal and external stakeholders in the region
  • Establish and maintain positive media relationships; act as a company spokesperson with media and be the first point of contact including some after-hours duties
  • Apply exceptional judgement to anticipate and effectively manage organizational risks and issues
  • Support media interviews with Bell executives including spokesperson preparation
  • Develop communications materials including press releases, key messages, briefing materials and backgrounders
  • Stay up-to-date on evolving economic, political, regulatory and social issues that affect Bell's business in Quebec and across the country
  • Identify new opportunities and fresh ways to communicate about Bell to its audiences
  • Monitor and measure communications impact for key activities, using metrics such as media share of voice and sentiment

Critical Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of progressive experience in public relations / media relations
  • Experience in a complex, issues-driven organization
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills in both French and English across a variety of vehicles
  • Demonstrated success at driving effective external communications campaigns and programs
  • Tactful handling of difficult situations and strong issues management / crisis comms experience
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deliver quality communications with tight deadlines
  • Good understanding of traditional media relations as well as social media
  • Self-motivated and resilient to changing timelines and requests
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with a technology or telecoms company an asset
  • In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
