Job Description

The Total Rewards Coordinator (Benefits & Absence Management) will be responsible for benefits program administration with a focus on absence management claims, including all occupational (WSIB) and non-occupational (STD, LTD, unpaid). Reporting to the Manager of Total Rewards, the incumbent will also support the administration of additional benefits and rewards programs, including group benefits, retirement, and recognition programs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Functional

  • Administer and manage the end-to-end lifecycle associated with occupational and non-occupational employee absences, including:
    • Short Term Disability
    • Long Term Disability
    • Non-Occupational Leaves of Absence
    • WSIB Claims
  • Accountable for correspondence, documentation and maintenance of confidential files and records associated with claims from the initial date of absence to return to work.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employees, leaders, HR Business Partners and external stakeholders regarding absence management.
  • Generate and maintain reports, interpret data and make recommendations for process efficiencies.
  • Assist with group benefits and retirement savings administration and reporting.
  • Coordinate all activities related to the long service awards program.
  • Partner with other Total Rewards members to maintain/update the HR employee portal.
  • Provide support to employees and answer inquiries that require an overall understanding of policies and procedures and Indigo's rewards programs.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of combined Benefits, HR or Total Rewards experience
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources or equivalent experience
  • Experience in the retail/customer service industry preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with understanding benefits and HR program principles and practices
  • Additional experience in benefit program transitions preferred
  • Knowledgeable regarding relevant legislation

Competencies / Skills / Attributes

  • Effective communication skills, including excellent written, oral and presentation abilities
  • Demonstrated time management skills, including the ability to adhere to schedules and manage processes; the ability to organize and prioritize work to manage timelines and to meet defined deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong with numbers and detail oriented
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office products, with a focus on Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Customer focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities at one time while delivering results
  • Experience using People Management Software (UKG Pro an asset)
