About the job
You will: - conduct needs assessments to determine emerging requirements for staff technical/academic knowledge and skills training in response to new/changing ministry policies/programs - compile and synthesize training needs information by researching, identifying and evaluating various training options to meet the ministry's knowledge and skills training requirements - select, modify and/or create training design and development models appropriate for training projects/programs - coordinate the delivery of training programs by selecting resources, including ministry subject matter experts, and external training service providers, individual consultants and guest lecturers
What you bring to the team
Adult Learning Knowledge:
• You have knowledge and understanding of adult education theories, principles and practices, and ability to apply them to current and practical situations. • You have the ability to provide leadership in adult education techniques. • You have experience facilitating adult learning programs using a variety of learning delivery methods.
Analytical and Problem Solving Skills:
• You can analyze and identify staff learning needs, to select service providers, to evaluate results. • You can identify and resolve problems/issues with training delivery (e.g. instructor services, quality of program instruction materials).
Project Management, Organizational and Administrative Skills:
• You have knowledge of planning and project management methodologies to conduct training program design and development projects. • You can work with trainers and subject matter experts in the development of training modules and their delivery. • You can work with competing priorities.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• You have oral and written communication skills to develop and prepare training program documents for staff and external contacts (e.g., training program plans, instructional materials, training evaluation tools). • You have consultation and persuasion skills to work with senior management and program managers. • You have advisory skills to explain training program policies, procedures and standards to management and instructors.
Computer Skills:
• You have the ability to operate a personal computer and related software (word, power point, excel, outlook, captivate etc.) to prepare training materials.
