About the role
The HR Generalist has experience in all areas of HR providing ongoing people services such as employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits and payroll support to our stores, corporate office and warehouse. They are responsible for audits to ensure data integrity, engage in the full payroll cycle, answer employee and manager queries, assist in benefits management and ensure a smooth recruitment operation through timely postings and follow-ups. They will also engage in a wide range of cross-functional initiatives, including promoting D&I and promoting a positive and collaborative corporate culture.

Responsibilities
• Be the go-to person for all things HR—whether it’s answering employee questions or helping managers navigate tricky situations.
• Updating handbooks, creating polices based on current provincial and federal legislation.
• Internal communications and helping with HR training initiatives.
• Assist in the administration, system input, and reporting of all benefit programs including heath benefits, RRSP, disability and life insurance from enrollment to termination
• Ensure accurate employment related information is recorded in Dayforce in a timely manner
• Responsible for the full-cycle recruitment process, including employee onboarding
• Support bi-weekly payroll for all employees, validate regular and non-regular payments (retros, bonuses, etc.) for accuracy, fix problems in the system and assist with the year-end process
• Ensure proper documentation of employee profiles are available upon request and align with audit requests
• Coordinate and answer employee’s questions related to HR policies and practices
• Ensure accurate reports are generated & configure reports based on business needs
• Protect employee and company integrity by keeping sensitive information confidential
• Participate in HRIS projects as needed (vendor management, benefits, surveys, etc)
• Assist in preparing job advertisements, manage postings on career website as well as other relevant posting websites
• Communicate regularly with all stakeholders (client groups and HR) providing information on the progress of searches
• Act as a key player in the creation and leadership in D&I initiatives from conception to launch and maintenance
• Promote a positive and collaborative corporate culture by addressing employee concerns and engaging in office fun activities from conception to launch
• Conduct monthly internal audits and provide information in external audits, as needed
• Conduct market research on employee compensation to ensure the organization remains competitive in the market, as needed
• Prepare reports and data analysis including talent reporting, as required.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field;
• 5 years of related HR experience
• Working in HR for a retail and/or manufacturing company
• Having worked on the floor in retail or beverage an asset!
• Hands on experience with various provinces across Canada.
• Experience executing and delivering full life cycle recruiting activities with proven results
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Skilled in the provision of administrative support and project coordination
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a past-paced and deadline driven environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to anticipate problems and develop a plan of action to prevent delays in the workflow
• Proactive team-player with the ability to work independently
• Experience with Dayforce, an asset
