You will be joining a small, mighty, and innovative team with responsibility for the design, communication, and implementation of the benefits and pensions programs at TELUS.

This role works closely with compensation, finance, benefits administration, payroll, well-being and our external partners. The role reports directly to the Director - Pensions & Benefits. This group of trusted advisors works diligently to understand what is important to TELUS Team Members as well as the business, by practicing thought leadership and a high level of collaboration.

Here's how...

  • Interface error reporting corrections with the Payroll & Benefits administration teams
  • Liaise with third-party pension administration team for investigations
  • Manage the pension department mailbox on a daily basis
  • Support the creation, documentation and improvement of processes
  • Support year-end processing with third-party pension administration team
  • Support with the analyzing of data to look for trends and patterns
  • Assisting with the resolution of pension & benefits issues from team members to senior leaders
  • Assisting with the process of harmonization and communication of pension plans during mergers and acquisitions

Qualifications

  • A track record of executing and delivering on agreed upon objectives
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong and effective relationships, both internally and externally
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong research skills, particularly in pension-related matters, with the ability to analyze and interpret relevant information
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal)
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing priorities and working with ambiguity
  • Strong planning (short and long range) and organizational skills
  • Exceptional customer focus with strong professional acumen
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to juggle priorities and tight deadlines
  • Dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and independence
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation would be an asset, though not required
  • Experience in working with common office suites - e.g. Microsoft Office, Google's G suite, familiarity with commonly used Excel functions such as VLOOKUP and SUMIFS
  • Experience working with pensions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pension plan legislation, regulatory environment, and compliance is an asset
