The Lac La Ronge Indian Finance & Administration Department is now accepting applications for the following Full Time Term Position based out of La Ronge, SK:

FINANCIAL COMPTROLLER

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
• Supervise account coding and verify signatures for proper assignment of budgetary expenditures.
• Ensure that all month-end financial duties and resulting financial reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Record all business transactions, process accruals and adjustments, reconcile accounts, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and financial statements.
• Prepare financial statements and bank reconciliations.
• Assist in developing and maintaining policy and procedures relating to financial and accounting issues in accordance with the Financial Administration Law of LLRIB.
• Assist Director Finance and Administration in audit conducted by third parties to ensure effective resolution and swift closure of auditing activities.
• Investigate variances in budgets, reporting, internal controls, and general accounting; deploy measures to resolve variances.
• Supervise financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, financial planning, and reporting.
• Assist Director Finance & Administration in the preparation and recording of the Departmental budgets into the Accounting Systems.
• Supervise and assist in the development and maintenance of accounting files and records.

The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• Must have a Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting/finance/administration.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting systems, budget development, and internal controls.
• Knowledge of GAAP, best practices in finance/accounting procedures, relevant tax laws, and reporting requirements to funding agencies;
• Well-developed coaching and leadership skills, both on a formal and informal basis;
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills;
• Must be able to provide a recent and satisfactory Criminal Record Check/ Vulnerable Sector Check and SGI's Driver Abstract.
