The bigger picture

We're looking for someone with a forward-thinking mindset and a keen eye for detail to come on board as our Senior Financial Performance Analyst. Your strong financial acumen will play an essential role in providing key stakeholders with data-driven analytics that contemplate capital, financial sustainability, and risk concepts, to make responsible decisions for members of the credit union.

How you'll be spending your time

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Managing the consolidated corporate annual budget and forecasting process for Conexus and its subsidiaries.
  • Scrutinize, analyze, and problem solve budget and forecasting input and results.
  • Collaborating with various departments to develop and manage the annual budget and long-term financial forecasts.
  • Create reporting packages for senior leaders and the Board illustrating alignment to financial sustainability measures.
  • Creating complex financial models to simulate various scenarios, assess risk, and support strategic planning.
  • Monitoring financial performance against budget and forecasts, identifying variances and providing actionable insights.

Performance Metrics:

  • Continuously track and analyze key performance indicators to measure the company's financial health and make strategic recommendations.
  • Assessment, monitoring, and recommendation of key performance indicators including financial Balanced Scorecard measures.

Financial Reporting and Financial Analysis:

  • Complete financial analysis and/or financial advice for plans and projects, business cases, and investment opportunities for both strategic corporate and department initiatives, with alignment to corporate sustainability targets.
  • Managing capital by developing and maintaining asset and capital allocation models to optimize the organization's reward within risk tolerance; support improvement of long-term planning and target setting through analysis of financial suitability.
  • Develop and maintain profitability and segmented reporting.
  • Support preparation for detailed financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements as required.

The experience you bring

  • 5+ years' experience in a financial environment, with 2 years' experience in a complex financial environment.
  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field or a relevant combination of experience and post-secondary education.
  • Completion of or working towards professional Accounting or Finance designation (CPA, CFA) or MBA in the Finance field of study.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel knowledge, financial software and databases.
  • Knowledge of CUDGC regulatory environment including Basel III capital framework and Accounting Standards (IFRS) will be considered an asset.

Salary Range:

$82,190 - $109,590 with 13% Short Term Incentive Target
