Job Description: We are looking for a professional with strong facilitation experience, particularly in strategic planning and community development. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and confident facilitator, comfortable engaging with various audiences and guiding them through participatory decision-making. This role requires someone who can manage complex projects and lead others to achieve quality improvement goals while fostering collaboration and capacity building across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Facilitate Collaborative Groups: Convene and facilitate large groups and diverse stakeholders in strategic conversations, planning sessions, and decision-making processes to advance quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop Facilitation Plans: Design facilitation strategies and plans to guide group discussions and ensure stakeholders achieve consensus on defining goals, targets, and measures for improvement.
  • Build Capacity for Change: Deliver programs to build quality improvement skills among colleagues and external partners, empowering them to lead change initiatives independently.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, coaching individuals and teams through quality improvement efforts and change management processes.
  • Mobilize Best Practices: Lead the adoption of best practices and evidence-based solutions to address gaps in health and healthcare.
  • Measurement & Evaluation: Leverage your expertise in measurement design, data visualization, and evaluation to assess and communicate the success of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Strategic Planning: Support strategic planning efforts and ensure quality improvement efforts align with HQC's priorities and broader health system goals.

Ideal Candidate:

You have:

  • Strong Facilitation Skills: Proven ability to facilitate large groups and complex discussions, ensuring that diverse perspectives are heard and consensus is reached.
  • Community Development Experience: Background in working with communities, conducting needs assessments, and applying community-driven approaches to improvement efforts.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the skill to translate complex concepts into clear, accessible language for different audiences.
  • Project Management Experience: Ability to manage multiple projects independently, ensuring timely delivery of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Commitment to Quality Improvement: Solid knowledge of quality improvement methodologies, such as the Model for Improvement, LEAN, and PDSA cycles.

Education

  • A bachelor degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, healthcare administration, social sciences, etc.). A master's degree is an asset.

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • A minimum of 5 years in a facilitation or related role, with significant experience in quality improvement, healthcare, or community development.
  • Experience applying quality improvement tools (e.g., Model for Improvement, LEAN, PDSA cycles) and supporting teams in adopting these methods.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and coach teams to implement change initiatives.
  • Experience in measurement design, data visualization (e.g., run charts, SPC charts), and knowledge translation.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), and virtual collaboration tools for remote facilitation.
