This is for a permanent full-time position, working 75 hours biweekly.

The Mineral Resources Branch regulates exploration and mining activity under the Quartz Mining and Placer Mining Acts with the goal of encouraging responsible development and a sustainable industry in Yukon.
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, the Director is responsible for directing, managing and evaluating Yukon's overall approach and strategies for mineral development and management through the provision of direction, administration and implementation of departmental and individual mineral sector business and action plans. This position is a key member of the department Energy, Mines and Resources senior management team and is responsible for providing vital advice and facilitates resolution of issues impacting the mineral industry while protecting the environment and public interests. The Director provides sound management of mineral resources; and ensures that legislation is supportive of development and responsible management of the mineral resources.
