Reporting to the Senior Manager, Organizational Effectiveness, the HR Representative supports a variety of Human Resources functions including recruitment, selection, engagement, employee relations, compliance, performance management, disability management, writing, researching, reporting and analyzing.
The HR Representative supports a wide range of HR initiatives that provide an opportunity for engagement and development that will broaden your depth in the core Human Resources functional areas.

Oversee the day-to-day activities in the Recruiting Portal of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) ensuring accuracy and professionalism while monitoring requisitions, approvals, postings, and all other recruitment activities to fill all open positions in a timely manner.
Manage the Job Preference List (JPL) ensuring adherence to the Collective Agreement, responding to enquiries, and providing training information.
Support and implement recruitment strategies to target both active and passive candidates using a variety of tools and techniques to fill current vacancies while following a consistent interview process and assessment approach.
Support and ensure hiring practices, procedures and policies are followed and they meet current labour and human rights legislation, and when applicable, adhere to the Collective Agreement including partnering with the Union Selection Committee.
Provide support, if required, to the HR Coordinate with relocation logistics for new hires and transfers in accordance with the Collective Agreement and Relocation Policy.
Support the HR Coordinator in the scheduling and delivering of orientation for all new hires.
Prepare for, travel to, and attend (or support those attending) recruitment/career fair events.
Manager Summer Student and Co-op recruiting initiatives and programs.
Partner with Government Relations for the NIEP - Northwestel Indigenous Employment Program.
Support HR Consultants with a variety of activities including but not limited to:
Disability management.
Disciplinary management process.
Employment offers.
Probationary Reviews from execution to completion for all new hires.
Annual Scholarship process.
Remote and Flexible Work Arrangements.
Creating, editing, and updating Job Descriptions and Job Profiles.
Supporting hiring managers in creating, editing, and updating job descriptions.
Preform job evaluations, based on job information to determine appropriate salary grades.
Scheduling meetings with a variety of individuals as needed.
Participating in other learning and development opportunities that will benefit overall growth in the Human Resource field.
Manage HR metrics, tracking, reporting, and building presentations as required, including the monthly Executive report and quarterly Board reports.
Create and execute our annual HR Effectiveness Survey. Compile results and present them to HR management.
Gather data, collaborate with other business units, and complete the submission for the Top 100 Employer application, as assigned.
Conduct research on federal reporting requirements, labour code updates, and other HR related legislative changes. Assist with the preparation of federal reports, including but not limited to employment equity, pay equity, vacancy, and diversity reporting. Maintain HR SharePoint site and update as required.
Communicate, educate, and provide ongoing support on HR company policies, guidelines, and procedures, along with relevant employment-related laws, regulations, and standards.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Diploma in Human Resources or related discipline with a minimum of three years operational HR experience. Alternative combinations of experience and education will be considered.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and can multi-task, prioritize, and adapt to changing priorities.
Above average interpersonal, relationship management, oral and written communication, and listening skills, as well as the ability to negotiate and solve problems.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly in Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
Customer-focused attitude, with a high level of professionalism and discretion and the ability to provide feedback, influence, create and present presentations, assist in process development and help solve problems.
Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills, with proven ability to manage differing priorities items at multiple different stages.
Ability to demonstrate social responsibility in combination with a strong knowledge of the Canada Labour Code, Collective Agreements and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Document Act (PIPEDA).
Passion for people with the ability to build meaningful relationships cross-departmentally.
Ability to work with confidential information on a regular basis and balance corporate objectives with employee requirements.
Strong sense of integrity and can maintain discretion under duress in sensitive situations.
Ability to understand the value of diversity.
Some travel is required, particularly for recruiting and career fair trips.
Experience with HRIS database systems would be an asset.
CPHR Designation would be an asset.
