Position Overview

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Transport Services management team as a Road Safety Program Manager. This role involves managing and overseeing a broad variety of road safety programs and services. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing road safety media campaigns, conducting research into emerging trends, and representing the Yukon on the Road Safety Research Policy Program Committee of the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators.

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Experience managing programs, including delivery, research, evaluation, reporting, and implementing changes.
  • Experience in communications and/or policy, or experience developing and executing media campaigns, or similar.
  • Experience with public speaking and representing the organization at meetings or on committees.
  • Experience interpreting and applying legislation.


Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

The ideal candidate will possess these qualifications, skills and knowledge, but also demonstrate suitability for the role and organizational culture. Key competencies for success in this role include:

  • Staff Management: Experience managing staff, including coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
  • Public Engagement: Experience presenting to and working with members of the public.
  • Research and Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw meaningful conclusions from data.

Conditions of Employment

This is a designated position working in an office setting within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:

  • class 5 driver's licence or equivalent

Job Requirements

This is a designated position within the Yukon public service with the following job requirements:

  • Travel by aircraft and motor vehicle
  • Work in adverse weather conditions and confined spaces
  • Capable of lifting up to 22 kg
