This position has an annual salary pay range of $79,173.00 to $98,966.00

The Organizational Development & Learning Leader is a senior consultant that develops and coordinates Yukon's hospitals corporate learning, individual and team performance development and leadership development programs. This position also provides other individual, organizational and management consultation support, such as change management, career planning/pathing, talent management, succession planning, organizational structure/resource allocation as well as team engagement, facilitation and coaching/mentoring support. These activities and programs help build knowledge, capacity and skills for our team to deliver safe and excellent hospital care, support a culturally safe care environment as well as promote a culture of safety, learning and continuous improvement through personal and professional growth.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Knowledge of learning, adult education, human resources, change management and/or organizational development principles and practices;
  • Knowledge of healthcare disciplines, professional standards and competencies, legislative/regulatory requirements and hospital operations;
  • Ability to develop and coordinate strategies/plans, services and programs that grow knowledge, improve performance and support sound management practices;
  • Ability to assess ideas, opportunities as well as learning and development needs;
  • Ability to develop and implement learning plans, action plans and project plans - independently or in consultation with subject matter experts, leaders and direct care/operation employees;
  • Ability to administer Learning Management Systems;
  • Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment, tact, and political astuteness in communicating sensitive information or collaborating with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize strong team building, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills to facilitate critical thinking and creative problem resolution;
  • Demonstrated ability to support cultural shifts and/or large-scale change;
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) that can persuade and influence;
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, coaching, and project management skills;
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office skills (e.g. Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and other audio/visual/online technologies used for learning and development;
  • Energetic, passionate, with drive for making things happen; and
  • Cultural competence.

The successful candidate will have three-five (3-5) years experience developing and successfully supporting organizational development and learning programs and initiatives; experience with providing education/training, writing curriculum or developing technical materials; and experience working in complex systems or previous healthcare settings. Post secondary education (Diploma or Degree) with additional training and/or focus in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development or a closely related field such as Adult Education or Change Management skills are desired; and completion of Yukon First Nations 101 or equivalent cultural competence education is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered.
