Rapid structural changes, difficult adaptation, and lack of resources… These are the problems faced by HR managers for meeting employees’ training needs. This is what a recent survey found, conducted by Lumesse with 769 HR managers over 24 countries.
Lack of confidence by employees
The study by Lumesse, supplier of e-recruitment solutions and talent management, shows that human resources managers believe that one employee in three do not feel confident in their job, particularly due to a lack of keeping up to date with their skills and knowledge… The trend extends to the role of HR for employees. The respondents reported that in fact only 10% of employees would consider HR as an essential partner in developing their skills and 70% feel that they provide only the bare minimum in terms of learning solutions. Finally, according to the HR managers interviewed, 40% of employees would not be willing to call on them to quickly develop their skills and knowledge.
Training employees to cope with change
75% of HR managers think that structural changes are happening much faster than five years ago. For employees to be able to adapt to these changes within the company, 80% think that they should be trained. However, one third of them say that they do not adequately prepare for the future needs of skills. Half also confirm that human resources departments are still a long way from doing everything possible to offer adequate training…
According to Lumesse, human resources managers are asked to achieve more goals than ever with fewer resources and in shorter time. What does the specialist suggest? Adopting more flexible training strategies that respond quickly to change and are easy to deploy on intuitive technology platforms with which employees feel comfortable. These are actions that would allow organizations and HR managers to reduce the time between training needs identification and the solutions deployed.
